The new president of Alabama State University, a historically black university in Alabama, is not allowed to cohabitate with male suitors during her tenure as president. According to her contract:
I found this to be quite fascinating because I immediately wondered if the clause has been/would be the same for a male president. I know that historically black college's and universities (HBCU's) are traditionally conservative institutions (as well as the southern United States), but I wonder if this regulating of her personal life is going above and beyond what is necessary. Some have said that this is not a gender issue, but I am not so sure about that. Let me know what you think in the comments!
